THE BONGO METHOD - LINK
"Bongo" John is an established artist residing in the RDU area of North Carolina. With many years experience in professional recording as well as over 30 years playing drums, his interests in music continue to develop. Being a drummer, percussionist, and keyboard player has also helped him to better understand how to compliment other players in both studio and live performance.
With an eclectic taste in song-writing, he has managed to work with several styles/genres of music, such as rock, jam-band, funk, pop, reggae, folk, jazz, blues, drum-n-bass, electronica, world beat and classical.
Currently he is staying busy as a performer, occasionally writing songs and instrumentals.
Bongo John wears many 'hats'. As a drummer, he holds down the groove with the the band Rubber Gypsy, Edge Case, Unsubs, Confetti Rhetoric Regiment, and Miles Partridge & The Hipslack. As a recording engineer, he's mixing several projects - which have included Jason Adamo, Brent Jordan, Cammie Ward, Cheryl Crosson, Triple Fret, The Finger Puppets, Leah Magner, Ascella Vega, and many others.
Bongo John's quintessential progressive pop record "Havana Sunrise", his latest solo effort, is destined to stand the test of time... Rich harmonies, deep drums, world-beat percussion, and memorable melodies abound. This is a one-of-a-kind and distinctly modern approach in songwriting, yet accessible to many walks of life - a futuristic vision and highly diverse excursion in telling the tale of one day of existence spent on Havana Beach...
Well on his way to overall success in his musical endeavors, Bongo John is very thankful to be involved with so many great musicians and songwriters in North Carolina.... |
